A to Z About ME!

Recently, I became 16 years old, and celebrated the 6 month anniversary of my blog. So I thought of introducing myself, A to Z!

A for Academia

I love dark academia aesthetic. It’s all about classic poetry and literature, revolving around late 19th century vibes. ☕📔🎻🏛

B for Books

This one is obvious. As a bibliophile, I keep reading a habit rather than a hobby.

Some books that I simply adore:

  • Dracula by Bram Stoker
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
  • Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  • The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
  • Tales from the Perilous Realm by J. R. R. Tolkien
  • The Hound of Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
  • A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle
  • The Valley of Fear by Arthur Conan Doyle
  • Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
  • Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
  • Macbeth by William Shakespeare
  • Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
  • Villete by Charlotte Bronte
  • King Solomon’s Mines by Henry Rider Haggard
  • Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

My top favourite book that is incomparable to all the other books is The Hound of Baskervilles. by Arthur Conan Doyle. 📚✨

C for Chocolate

Chocolate remains my favourite ever sweet. No-one can argue. Want one? 🍫

D for Detective

Did I ever mention I technically obsess over Sherlock Holmes? Not as a fan girl, but as an intellectual and keen advocate of the great genius. My favourite genres are, after all, detective, horror, mystery and thriller. 🕵🏻‍♀️🔎

E for Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson is my idol. An introvert poet of such witty masterpiece, complementing her simple submissive personality. My favourite poem of hers is “I’m Nobody! Who are you?” This was one of the first classic poems I ever read, (when I was eleven) the first of Emily’s, and it touched me so much that I fell in love with her writing. ✨

F for Fall

Autumn is my favourite season of all! It just matches my vibe. 🍂📔✨

P.S. F is also for foxes! 🦊

G for Garden

I don’t technically do gardening, but I love sitting in the swing, under the boughs of the peach tree, while the smell of basil fills the air. 🌿🍂🍃

H for Hamsters

Okay, so there are cat people and dog people, but there are very few hamster people and I am one of them! I just love those cute rodents! 🐹

I for Introvert

Yes, I am an introvert. A wallflower. I don’t like social outings. Such that I hate it when someone is peering over my shoulder when I am writing. It just bugs me. 🌼

J for Journaling

Of course I journal. I keep a daily diary of events and my own thoughts about them, and an art journal in which I express my feelings with the use of art, and paper crafts. 🖋📔🎨

K for Knowledge

Yep, and this one is a HUGE ambition in my life.

On my first day of school, when I was five years old, the school principal interviewed me and asked me to write my name on a piece of paper (instead I drew flowers). I didn’t know what she was speaking for I only understood Pashto, so I spoke in Pashto with a confused expression, “Mata Pata Nishta!” which means I don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Since that day, I have continued my struggle to learn more, the yearn for gaining knowledge. That phrase, “I don’t know” holds so much meaning for me now that I am obliged to the younger me, forever in the journey to acquire knowledge. 📚📖♾✨

L for Library

I love the library!

In my previous school, I used to sneak to the library with my best friend during recess and sit there the whole time reading (one time, missed a class not knowing the time). The library used to be completely deserted and we were, I think, the only visitors. But the new school’s library is on the middle floor of the building and it is roasting in the midday Sun. No one can even read properly because of the chitchat of the librarian with other teachers who use it as a staffroom. 😤

Ahh well, I have made my own tiny library at home. 📚📖🪑

M for Malalai

So, I was named after the legendary heroine of Afghanistan, Malalai of Maiwand. She is an icon of feminism for me and I am very, very lucky to have been named after her.

“Malalai” means grief-stricken or melancholy in Pashto. Describes me somewhat. ⚔🏹🗡🛡

Go read it!

N for Nerd

Yep, I am a nerd. And I am proud to be one. 🤓

O for Organizing

I am an extremely organised perfectionist and make a lot of lists. 📃✏

P for Poetry / Polymath

The lovely word. I don’t know how it grew inside me. Probably I inherited from Dad, I don’t know. But I am so delighted that my soul is a part of poetry.

My favourite poets are Edgar Alan Poe, Emily Bronte, Robert Frost, Percy Bysshe Shelly, Lord Byron, William Wordsworth, Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson. 📜🖋✍🏻🎶

I am a polymath; I am studying medicine, I love chemistry and history, I am a tiny (very tiny) cartoonist, a to-be-a-novelist, a short story writer and a poet.

And hey, poetry is not dead.

Q for Quiet Times

I love quiet times. They just soothe me and recharge all that energy that got wasted in social gatherings etc. I love sitting in the study alone. It really helps in overcoming writer’s block. ✍🏻📜📖

R for Ravenclaw

So, I took part in the Sorting Hat ceremony of Wizarding World, and, unsurprisingly, I got Ravenclaw! 🦅🖤💙🤍

Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure.

J. K. Rowling

S for Science

Like I said, I am a nerd. I love science and I am devoted to it as a pre-medical student. Marie Curie and Maryam Mirzakhani are, after all, my STEM idols. 🤓👩🏻‍🔬🔭🧬🧪🔬🥼

T for Tolkien

J. R. R. Tolkien is the best adventure-fantasy writer I have ever read. Middle-Earth is after all, my favourite fandom. The Hobbit being my favourite movie, I loved the desolating dragon, Smaug. 🐲🔥🏹🧙🏻‍♂️🧝🏼‍♀️

Not all those who wander are lost.

J. R. R. Tolkien

U for Ukulele

The next thing I really, really love after a typewriter (did I mention that…?) is a ukulele! How strange, right? It’s just that I grew to love it from Grace Vanderwaal’s song I Don’t Know My Name (which remains my favourite). I really, really want to learn how to play it. 🎸🎻🎶

V for Video Games

Okay this might be a shock or a surprise, but I do play video games and I am particularly fond of many, like The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Minecraft, Age of Mythology, Plants Vs. Zombies, Titan Quest, World of Warcraft and my most favourite of all, Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst.

My favourite genres in gaming are HOPA (Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure), adventure, fantasy and strategy which are proven to increase thinking and cognitive skills. 🎮🕹

W for Wizarding World

My second favourite fandom after Middle-Earth. I love how all the children go to a wizarding school where they learn witchcraft. My favourite Harry Potter books are The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince. I also played the video game Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. 🧙🏻‍♀️🥢🔮📜

“Being different isn’t a bad thing. It means that you are brave enough to be yourself.”

Luna Lovegood

X for Xenomania

I love foreign trinkets and tokens, and keeping keychains and stamp collections. These are one of my hobbies. 🧭🔮🗝📦✉

Y for Youthful Enthusiasm

I am 16 years old and I still have many childhood hobbies and habits, and I am actually glad about that because growing up should not mean losing the child inside you. Rather we should become better at understanding it. 🧒🏻🤍✨

Z for Zodiac

My Zodiac is Libra! The Scales. Justice. Equality. Fairness. Law. ⚖♎

Even though I don’t believe in the horoscope (unscientific and superstitious), I use it just because it’s fun.

✧─── ・。゚★: *.✦.* :★。゚・ ───✧

That’s it then. An A to Z all about me! I hope you have a lovely day! ✨

✧─── ・。゚★: *.✦.* :★。゚・ ───✧

Noone will be pushed off a cliff. Probably.
