Thoughts #10

Life
is too miserable
to live
without poetry.

Indeed it is; no matter how much they call poetry ‘haram’ i.e. forbidden, they cannot take this little medium through which many seek therapy and love. 📜🖋✨

Noone will be pushed off a cliff. Probably.

  1. So well said, sister. Poetry is therapy. Succinctly expressed.
On a different note, Poetry was probably considered Haram in ancient times for the fear that sacrilegious ideas would be spread or sensual feelings expressed in writing, both of which are repulsive ideas in Islam. However, I personally don’t see that there’s anything *Haram* about writing beautiful poetry as you do 💖
And it’s quite ironic, considering how your side of the border boasts of wonderful Sufi poets and such extraordinary literary masters!

    1. I know, exactly! ✨
Here, they boast about Sufi poets (of whom I am a fan) and all internationally, but at schools they teach us “not to get ‘affected’ by the poetry”. I mean they are such hypocrites. They hate poetry here. 😔
But with people like you, and the poets who inspire me, are always there to motivate me! 💖
Thank you for your lovely comment! 🌼✨

      1. Wow, “affected” by poetry is something I haven’t heard of. I hope you don’t get “affected” by such thoughts haha. You’re incredibly talented and it’d be sad if you ever get influenced to stop. Sufi poets are well reknown respected here in India.

      2. Yeah, the whole extremist-kind-of-thing going on here makes it hard to echo one’s voice through literature and poetry. I know how India loves Sufi poets, and thank you for always being there to support me, sister! 🌼💖💖💖✨
